Nvidia RTX 5070 Founders Edition Graphics Card Review
Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a highly acclaimed role-playing game set in the Forgotten Realms universe. Developed by Larian Studios, it offers a deep and immersive experience with turn-based combat, intricate storylines, and a vast world to explore. Players can create their own custom characters or choose from a roster of origin characters, each with their own unique backstories and motivations.

In Baldur’s Gate 3 at 1440p, we now see the 5070 coming in 7% faster than the 4070 SUPER, which is much more like it, but still at a point where gamers will be expecting more performance generation to generation. We do see a 28% increase over the 4070 non-SUPER, and 64% more than frames than the RTX 3070, but again, based on other 50 series uplifts, gamers are in a position, especially at $549, that they want to see much higher gains.

At 4K, the gains do improve slightly, with an 11% increase over the 4070 SUPER and 30% over the 4070 non-SUPER, which is much more respectable, but at just a 58% increase over the RTX 3070, it still falls short of the mark, and it almost feels like we’re at a point, at least in terms of rasterisation, that we’re potentially as the limits of what’s possible gen on gen, or in this case, even skipping a generation.
