The Final Fantasy benchmark is the only too we have to test DLSS at this time. I should point out it’s a special release for the press, and this isn’t available in the consumer benchmark at the time of writing. It runs in three modes; no AA, TAA, and DLSS. As you can see, DLSS makes a shocking improvement in the performance.
With no AA the performance is pretty damn good. Turn TAA on and the performance drops a fair bit. TAA looks great though, and these are fast cards and performance is decent enough in my opinion. However, turn on DLSS and performance skyrockets from anywhere between 25% and a whopping 40%. To my eyes, it looks pretty darn sharp too and in a blind test, I’d struggle to pick between TAA and DLSS. Nvidia… this is witchcraft and impressive witchcraft at that! We’ll test more games as they become available.
