Nvidia is launching a brand new Fermi-based graphics card next week on May 17th, the new GTX 560 is expected to fall in between the GTX 460 and GTX 560Ti in terms of its performance.
Nvidia released a preview video showing the card running various games, particularly showing off the cards physX capabilities and its ability to run modern games in Full HD (1920×1080) with maximum detail settings at playable frame rates.
Although the specifications will be vary between manufacturers the expected specifications are:
- 336 CUDA Cores
- 56 Texture Units
- 256-bit memory interface
- 1GB GDDR5
The clock speeds are expected, much like the performance, to fall in between those of the GTX 460 and the GTX 560ti:
- Core clock between 700-820mhz
- Memory clock of around 3800-4000mhz
No statements on Nvidia yet with regards to exact pricing but the card is expected to retail between £140-£160 which will put it in direct competition with AMD’s HD 6870 (£150+) card. Be sure to check back with eTeknix as more news and a review will be sure to follow soon.
