Nvidia Set To Release The New GTX 560 Next Week

Nvidia is launching a brand new Fermi-based graphics card next week on May 17^th, the new GTX 560 is expected to fall in between the GTX 460 and GTX 560Ti in terms of its performance.

Nvidia released a preview video showing the card running various games, particularly showing off the cards physX capabilities and its ability to run modern games in Full HD (1920×1080) with maximum detail settings at playable frame rates.

Although the specifications will be vary between manufacturers the expected specifications are:

• 336 CUDA Cores
• 56 Texture Units
• 256-bit memory interface
• 1GB GDDR5

The clock speeds are expected, much like the performance, to fall in between those of the GTX 460 and the GTX 560ti:

• Core clock between 700-820mhz
• Memory clock of around 3800-4000mhz

No statements on Nvidia yet with regards to exact pricing but the card is expected to retail between £140-£160 which will put it in direct competition with AMD’s HD 6870 (£150+) card. Be sure to check back with eTeknix as more news and a review will be sure to follow soon.
