Nvidia Shield Android TV Review

A Closer Look
The controller is the usual Shield controller that we’ve come to know and love; you can check all of our coverage of that right here.
It’s nice that it’s bundled with the Shield TV, as it means you can pick it up and play right out of the box; you can buy extra controllers for around £49.99.
The Shield TV is super slim, meaning it’ll blend into your TV setup with ease. If you wanted to, you can also purchase an optional Shield Stand to mount it vertically for £24.99.
The angular shape looks great and there’s an angled base at the front which gives it a floating appearance, but also provides room for the underside ventilation to draw in cool air at the front without having to have the vents on show.
Around the back, a little extra ventilation, memory card slot, USB ports, gigabyte ethernet, HDMI and the proprietary power cable port.
The angular top panel is pretty slick, helping break up the design and making it stand out a little more without being overly distracting, or overly boring.
There’s a tough rubber grip section on the base, which is great, as it prevents the unit from sliding around your desk/TV stand.
Overall, all three devices are very well designed and complement each other beautifully. The compact size of the Shield TV is impressive, especially given the high-end hardware and features that it offers.
