NVIDIA Showcases the Magic of DirectX 12
John Williamson / 9 years ago
During NVIDIA’s Pascal press briefing, the company discussed DirectX 12 and the way various hardware configurations including consoles and PCs are very similar. They also commented on the rise of PC gaming and success of spectator eSports. Sadly, there wasn’t any concrete information regarding the new architecture’s support for technologies like Ascrynrous Compute, but this could be revealed at a later date. Whatever the case, it’s great to see NVIDIA publicly showcase the benefits of DirectX 12 and hopefully they can convince more developers to focus on this latest API. Saying that, I would have liked to hear more technical information about NVIDIA products and how they integrate with DirectX 12.
Do you think the GTX 1080 will support Asynchronous Compute? Perhaps, they didn’t mention it during the briefing because this technology isn’t possible on the upcoming Pascal offerings.
