Nvidia Shows Off Gridlock Gears of War 4 Map

Nvidia is getting really excited about Gears of War 4 coming out later this year, even if their implementation of asynchronous compute isn’t exactly quite the best suited for powering through the upcoming DirectX 12 title. Nonetheless, they’re partnering with Microsoft and Coalition to offer a game bundle with new GeForce GPU purchases for the near future. They’re introducing Gridlock, a map that has a lot of history in the game, today.
The new map is apparently a fan favorite from the original game that was released so many years ago. They’ve modified this version of it, Gridlock having appeared in Gears of War 2 and 3, with a more “reclaimed beauty” sort of look in that nature has pervasively taken back over the area. The new is in keeping with the timeline of the story, showing what happens when humans, and others, abandon their buildings. Sadly the flyover video isn’t at 4K60.
Minimum specs to run at 4K at a reasonably steady frame rate are said to include an i7-4790, 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1080 to round it off. Check out the video below to see the new map and how it has evolved over the years.
