Nvidia Teases Ada Lovelace 40XX Architecture Launch

It’s widely speculated, if not practically confirmed at this point, that Nvidia will formally announce the launch of their new 40XX graphics cards (or at least the 4090) at their GTC event on September 20th. – Admittedly, this is still just speculation as the exact nature of what they might reveal is still clearly pending confirmation.
Following a report via Videocardz, however, Nvidia has just dropped a lead balloon hint that the Ada Lovelace architecture, set to be used in the 40XX series of graphics cards, will be a key subject at the event.
Nvidia Teases 40XX Launch With Ada Lovelace Image
Now, Nvidia hasn’t decided to take the simple approach of simply posting a picture of Ada Lovelace. What they’ve done instead is show an image taken from the “Diagram for the computation by the Engine of the Numbers of Bernoulli“. – This is a chart that was designed by Ada Lovelace for use with Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine and is widely considered to be the first recorded instance of a purposeful computer program.
Without an actual picture of her, this is about as on the nose as it gets which means 40XX graphics cards will indeed (well, with a 99.9% certainly) be on the Nvidia agenda on September 20th. – At this point though, it’s going to be interesting to see whether the news will entirely be on their 4090 flagship or whether other models, such as the 4080 12GB and 16GB, might also be revealed.
Any way you look at it though, we don’t have much longer to wait before we find out!
