Nvidia To Showcase Pascal Next Week

Even with all of the Pascal architecture details revealed, Nvidia has remained mum on what chips they plan to launch. A couple of weeks ago, we first got word that Nvidia was planning on hosting a private press event for select news outlets to showcase their Pascal cards. Now with only a month to go till Computex, Nvidia is reportedly hosting their private viewing of Pascal sometime next week.

So far we’ve seen a number of leaks that have pretty much confirmed the cards Nvidia will be launching. We’ve seen GP104-400 which will power the GTX 1080 as well as GP104-200 which will drive the GTX 1070. We’ve seen the reference cooler shrouds and know that the GTX 1080 will use GDDR5X and the GTX 1070 GDDR5. We’ve even had rumours about the price points the cards will launch at.

Of course, those are all rumours so confirmation would be nice. We also don’t know the exact core specifications, clock speeds and how much compute will be left in. Given past experiences, the event won’t be live streamed so we’ll have to wait for the official launch. By looking at previous press events, we can expect Pascal GP104 to drop in the second of third week of May, likely the third given the rumoured time frames.
