NVIDIA Uses Cloud to Give MacBooks GeForce GTX Graphics

NVIDIA hopes to bring the power of PC gaming to Apple fans and it’s using cloud computing to facilitate it. The GeForce Now service – available for NVIDIA Shield for a couple of years now – is bringing the power of NVIDIA graphics cards to Apple Mac computers. GeForce Now for Mac allows MacBook users to connect to GeForce GTX-powered virtual machines to support high-end gaming. In addition, the system supports game streaming through the Steam, Origin, GOG, and Uplay services. However, PC fans shouldn’t despair: NVIDIA is rolling out GeForce Now to PCs, too. Though, the company is yet to reveal the timescale for the PC version’s release.

GeForce Now for Mac System Requirements

  - Note that the nano-receiver must be connected to a USB port that delivers enough power, such as a powered USB hub or an iMac/MacBook USB port.

In addition, NVIDIA explains macOS doesn’t support Xbox 360 controllers. However, it does point to a third-party solution.

GeForce GTX Graphics for Macs – NVIDIA Says
