A Chinese website leaked the specs of Nvidia’s next generation mobile processor Tegra 4; codenamed “Wayne”. It’s said to be built using a 28nm processor with 4+1 Quad Core Eagle CPU and 72-Core GPU.
The +1 Core as shown above is said to be reserved as a battery saver core. According to the leaked slides it will be utilizing 4 Cortex-A15 CPU’s. This GPU would be supporting 2560x 1600 screen resolutions and 1080p output @ 120Hz via HDMI. Looking at the area near the watermark, it will support USB 3.0.
This processor (if Wayne is for real) will offer up to 20x more performance than Tegra 2 and 6x times more than Tegra 3. This SOC solution is a serious step up compared to the 40nm predecessor Tegra 3. Now its all up to Nvidia to talk about this officially and hopefully during Computex.
