NZ Courts Order FBI To Destroy Illegally Obtained Data In Megaupload Case

According to reports coming from New Zealand, the New Zealand courts have ruled that all data which the FBI acquired illegally from Kim Dotcom in the Megaupload case must be destroyed or returned. In addition the court has granted Kim Dotcom and his legal team full access to the evidence brought against him in the extradition case.

The High Court Justice Helen Winkelmann also ruled that the raid which took place on Kim Dotcom’s mansion was also illegal since the warrants were improperly issued and as a result a “A miscarriage of justice did result”, something quoted by Kim Dotcom on his Twitter.

Kim Dotcom’s extradition hearing is still scheduled for August and it is likely to be delayed more as the separate court investigation into the legality of the raid on his home further runs its course. Despite this, Kim Dotcom has won a major victory in proving several counts of illegality against the FBI and gaining access to the evidence being used against him. No doubt there is still a long and bumpy road ahead for Kim Dotcom and the deceased Megaupload.

What are your thoughts on these legal victories by Kim Dotcom?
