The temperatures are impressive and really show us that the movable fans work well. Having the ability to direct the airflow from both fans directly up into the CPU and GPU vents gave impressive results. As you can see 8 degrees have been shaved off the load temperatures for the processor.

The story for the GPU was very similar, given how close it is to the CPU in our notebook. We saw 9 degrees wiped off the load temperatures for the GPU thanks to the 2500RPM 80mm fans on the NZXT Cryo E40.

With 2500RPM 80mm fans, you were probably expecting a horrendously noisy experience from the Cryo E40. But thankfully, they are a lot quieter than the RPM count would suggest. A noise level of 47 dBA (silent room noise level is picked up as 35dBA on our sound meter) the Cryo E40 adds just 12dBA to the ambient noise level. As we already mentioned the lack of a fan controller means the minimum and maximum speeds are obviously identical. It is certainly not silent but you get an excellent amount of noise considering the performance the fans give.
