How Much Does it Cost?
The NZXT H1 V2 Mini-ITX PC Case launches today with an MSRP of $399.99 in the USA, and $350 Worldwide. NZXT say the higher price in the US reflects tariffs levied on imported goods. Actually, the case is about $50 more expensive than the old one, but given that it’s bigger and has some upgrades, that’s not overly surprising. Plus, pretty much everything has seen some supply issues and price increases in the last two years. On the plus side, you get a good warranty, with 3 years on the case, PCIe extender and AIO, as well as 10 years on the power supply.
Overview
While this case may seem expensive, and well, in many ways it is, I don’t think it’s bad value for money. You get a premium quality case that could easily be $100-150 on its own. SFX power supplies don’t come cheap, especially a 750W 80 Plus Gold fully modular unit like the one included. Sure, you may want to buy your own, but this one has been chosen to make perfect use of the available space. The same is true of the custom AIO cooler, which uses a larger 140mm radiator and ergonomic hoses that are well suited to the limited space between the radiator and the motherboard area, as most off the shelf AIOs wouldn’t work in here.
Also, given that NZXT pre-fit the power supply, route all its cables, even cable tied the excess for you in advance. Then they’ve fitted the AIO, its fans, and the thermal paste. The riser cable is pre-installed and ready to go too, and all the appropriate motherboard cables are sitting ready right where you’ll need them. The two fans are hooked up to the built-in fan controller, and both are ready to go. Seriously, that’s a lot of work you don’t have to do and actually helps justify another chunk of the price tag.
Having upgraded the PCIe cable to a Gen4 is nice, and means that those using the latest motherboards and graphics cards can get the best performance from them. Of course, let’s not gloss over the fact they’ve fixed all the issues that caused the old model to have a grounding fault. It’s a shame it’s been nearly two years to see the problems of the H1 V1 fully addressed, but at least, in the end, we’ve ended up with a truly stunning PC case.
From the enthusiast wanting something stylish and powerful to the first time system builder wanting something easy to work with, the NZXT H1 V2 is a fantastic upgrade from the old model. It’s a bit bigger, it has better airflow, lower temperatures, and it’ll house some real gaming GPUs this time around. NZXT took the long road with this one, but the NZXT H1 V2 is going to be hard to beat.
