NZXT H230 Classic Silent Mid-Tower Review

The chassis interior features same mixture of high gloss white paintwork and jet black fixtures, nice to see that NZXT are paying great attention to details even on a chassis that doesn’t have a side panel window.

There is a good size CPU cooler mounting cut-out and a few various shapes and sizes of cable routing cut-outs. There are no rubber grommets on the cut-outs but the edges are rolled and smooth, so your cables shouldn’t get snagged.

In the back we have a high quality 120mm exhaust fan that is fitted with both molex and 3pin power connections for maximum compatibility. The expansion slot covers are reusable and each features a quick release thumb screw for easy access.

Each of the three optical bays features a push lock mechanism for easy drive access and the HDD bays feature drawers that slide out from the right side of the chassis. There are 6 drawers in total, all of which support both 3.5″ and 2.5″ HDD’s, but you can also mount an extra 2.5″ drive directly to the base of the chassis underneath the bottom HDD drawer.

The middle HDD bay can also be removed from the right side of the chassis to allow you extra space for cooling or long graphics cards.

There are four small rubber pads to provide a firm base for your PSU while the right side features room to mount an extra 120mm fan.

The front panel can be removed, giving you access to another mesh air filter for easy maintenance. There is a 120mm fan pre-installed and room for another 120mm should you need it.

Here you can see the inside of the side panels (both side panels look the same). There is a thick black and soft padding that covers it and this will go a long way to reducing noise and vibration from the chassis.
