The H230 has put on a really strong performance today and while I would still rather have the H630 chassis, I cannot ignore the fact that the H230 is less than half the price of its bigger brother.
There is some fierce competition for around £60 and you can get some really great chassis for this kind of money, but NZXT have easily created one of the most sleek and well made chassis in its class, although this is true of most any chassis that NZXT produces these days, the H230 is just a continuation of their good name and another welcome addition to their range.
The chassis isn’t perfect however and there are still a few options I would love to see from this case, most importantly is the ability to mount a large water cooler and I feel that NZXT have really missed out on the chance to fit a large radiator in the top of the chassis, where we could have had a removable cover for those that want to keep things sealed up and quiet, or to make room for a large radiator. I was hoping it would be possible to mount a 240mm radiator in the front and while this is theoretically possible you would have to remove the bottom hard drive bay your self, something that can’t be done as standard.
There is however still room for three 120mm air intake fans and one exhaust, more than enough for most mid to high end systems, although maybe not enough for enthusiast grade builds. You can still install a 120mm radiator in the back, which is more than enough for most high end CPU’s these days, but I know many NZXT users love to push that little bit further in terms of performance, but if you want more, then you should start saving for the H630.
This is a great new entry to the mid budget price range and its a great way to get a taste of what NZXT have to offer for those of us who can’t afford their often £100+ enthusiastic level chassis designs.

eTeknix says: “If you’re looking for a affordable, silent and very well built chassis for your system, then the NZXT H230 is easily one of the best value for money chassis on the market, plus its clean design would look fantastic in almost any environment”.
