NZXT H400i Tempered Glass Mid-Tower Chassis Review

A Closer Look – Interior

The exterior is stunning, but the real magic of the H400i lurks on the interior. With the side panel removed, we get access to that lovely interior, which features a huge cut-out for easy CPU cooler mounting.

What’s that tucked into the top? Why it’s a built-in NZXT Hue RGB kit of course! And you get a second strip with 3M and magnetic mounts included in the box; awesome, right!?

Show off your favourite SSD with this handy 2.5″ drive mount up front.

The PSU shroud is great, as it’ll hide the majority of your cables, as well as a hiding place for a few more HDDs. There’s some lovely ventilation cut into it, as well as a few cable routing holes for practicality.

Cable routing looks more limited than it is. There’s a large cut-away channel along the top, as well as the bent metal cover that will allow for cable pass-through. Of course, this will make more sense in our final build pictures.

Up front, you’ll find two very nice quality Case Edition AER fans providing plenty of airflow.

Around the back, there are even more things going on! Here you can see there’s a vast amount of space for cable routing. However, there are purpose-built channels for routing important cables as neatly as possible.

They come with various breakout points, as well as Velcro straps to keep them tidy.

This box of tricks is a fan controller on steroids. It features a built-in microphone which can listen to your system and help ensure it’s running as cool and as quiet as possible. I doubt this is a cheap add-on, and goes some way to justifying the premium fans and price tag the join the H400i.

Two removable 2.5″ drive mounts tucked into the back.

With room for more, or a 3.5″ HDD tucked into the bottom also.
