NZXT H7 Case Review

How Much Does it Cost?
There are three NZXT cases launching today, all listed below. Looking at the feature and most certainly their performance, I’d say the NZXT H7 Flow is the best value for money. It runs cooler, and quieter and offers the best overall value of the three. Based on its price and performance, I think I’d have a hard time selling you on the standard H7. I’d only recommend that if you were completely changing the fan configuration for something more robust. The Elite is cool, but it’s certainly more for showing off than it is for adding any practical advantage, as it’s louder and more expensive overall.

Build Quality
Now, this is something I can’t complain about, as the latest generation of the NZXT H-series cases are the toughest yet. Despite being a little smaller and lighter than their predecessors, they feel much more robust. The steel is thick, everything is tightly constructed, and the case just feels really heavy and robust. If you want a case that will last you many long years of being kicked under your desk, this is it.
To Flow or Not to Flow
While it’s a little low on airflow, there is hope for this case yet. I have the old model, and I put a full bank of 140mm Noctua Chromax in the front and back, with a dual-fan Noctua Chromax D15S CPU cooler, and I must admit, I rarely hear it. However, I’m in a position to do that, I wonder how many people are going to seriously drop another £200 on ultra-high-end fans after buying this case. However, you could also argue that I’d get basically the same acoustics in the Flow while getting even lower temperatures overall… so yeah, NZXT, you need to wonder if the solid panel is still worth the hassle at this point.
Should I Buy One?
Well, if you’re the kind of person who skips right to the end of the review, my general consensus is this is a very well made case, it looks great, and it’s very easy to build a system inside. However, with just two fans as standard, and a solid front panel, it doesn’t have much cooling potential. Furthermore, the biggest kicker is the H7 Flow costs the same, and it’s clearly the better case of the two, so don’t buy the H7, but the H7 Flow, it’s the smart thing to do.
