NZXT H7 Elite Case Review

The NZXT H7 and the H7 Flow look great, but given this is meant to be the aesthetic flagship of the range, the H7 Elite really does look freaking epic. All the cases in the series are available in black and white, but given my H7 and H7 Flow are both black, it only seems to make the H7 Elite pop even further. It looks super cool and clean.

Now, what’s interesting is that the Elite ditches the metal front panel in favour of more tempered glass. Now, this is a little strange as that means the airflow is now the same as the base model, while the Flow gets the mesh front panel that promises better performance. So again, this is the aesthetic flagship, while the flow will be the performance flagship.

I love the subtle etched logo on the front though, it looks very classy.

Plus, this is the only one of the new cases that offers up RGB fans, with three 120mm RGB fans in the front of the case, that are sure to provide plenty of customisation.

The right side panel is a chunky metal panel, but it comes with a vertical mesh intake that spans the full height of the case. How well does it work? We’ll get to testing shortly, but I have my doubts on this one.

Up on the top, there’s plenty of ventilation. Actually, the top panel is the same design on all the new H7-series cases, but it should offer a decent amount of passive heat exhaust as it is, but you can mount fans and radiators there too.

The front panel I/O is small but competent, and I love the purple USB 3 ports.

Around the back, you’ll find a little ventilation up at the top, and a 120/140mm fan mount below that.

One thing that is different is the fan, the other H7’s come with 120mm models, but this one it’s a 140mm. Strangely though, it’s just a white fan, not RGB like the fan in the front, you would think they were all the same, but nope.

Strangely NZXT has equipped the new H7 series with non-ventilated expansion slot covers. They do look neat and tidy, but I do wonder why they didn’t use ventilated ones like… well, every other brand I can think of.

The PSU mount is at the bottom, and there’s a matching white slide-out dust filter on the bottom too.
