How Much Does it Cost?

The NZXT H7 Flow (CM-H71FB-01) is available now as an RGB and non-RGB variant. Personally, I like the non-RGB version, I think my rainbow light days are behind me, and I do tend to use after market fans too. However, I can’t ignore the value of the RGB version, it’s really not that much more expensive than the stock version, and those F-series fans are absolute stunning in the front.

Overview

NZXT has taken an already fantastic series of cases and just nudge it over the finish line to be a little bit better. The Flow series takes some of their most popular cases, which NZXT acknowledged didn’t have the best airflow, and well, they simply fixed that. Modern PC hardware runs pretty hot, especially the flagship GPUs and CPUs on the market right now. So while some older PC cases focused on silence, higher airflow has definitely become the desired solution, and the Flow delivers on that in a big way.

The case supports up to 10 fans in total, but I think the bottom fan mount is the most interesting, as usually case makers are hesitant to sacrifice the much-loved PSU shroud. I’ve seen fans on top of the shrouds, under them, angled on them, more ventilation added to the shrouds, and more. However, NZXT has simply turned the PSU on its side, and this frees up space to have the best of both worlds.

Because the fan mounts are recessed into the bottom of the case, there’s no chance it’ll compromise your expansion card options either, which is often the case in mid-towers. Plus, it’s easier to get cold air in at the bottom of the case, and exhaust it at the top, helping promote good airflow and cooling practices throughout the case.

Hardware support is exceptional, with the case supporting up to an ATX motherboard in its standard configuration, or E-ATX with the cable routing cover removed on the right side of the motherboard. The largest graphics cards fit with ease, and even the massive 1500W Platinum PSU from NZXT I was sent had no issues fitting in the case, while still having ample room for modular cables, as well as storing excess cables.

Which version of this case is best is really subjective though. The black version is pretty stealthy, while the white version is obviously brighter and going to really pop if you go down the RGB route. But style is subjective, and while the non-RGB version is cheaper, really the only difference is the fans installed in the front, so you’re not missing out on any other features either way.

Should I Buy One?

At this price range, the NZXT H7 Flow is very competitively priced, it’s a great quality case, coming from a well respected brand name, and it has a level of features and hardware support that means it’s perfectly competitive with anything else from the competition for around the same price. Innovation and change is pretty slow in the PC market, but NZXT has taken some unique ideas to the PSU shroud and cooling layout in the bottom of the case that I think will prove to be a big hit, as there’s no compromise in hardware or performance, and it adds more cooling support to the bottom of the case!
