NZXT H700i Mid-Tower Chassis Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The NZXT H700i is the new flagship model from NZXT, and it comes with their flagship price tag to match it. Priced at £195/$199 it’s far from cheap, but I can’t stress enough how much I think it’s worth every single penny. Equipped with four fans, tempered glass, dual RGB light strips, and a whole range of custom design features, it really pays back on your investment in a big way.

Overview

At £200, the H700i is going to face some tough competition in the chassis market. Or is it? At around £200, the chassis market offers up a few pretty extreme looking options, but few are as refined and stylish as the H700i. You can pick up a Lian Li PC-A75X, PC-010WX or similar for around the same price, but their cable routing, lighting, and hardware support isn’t quite on par with what NZXT is offering, in fact, there’s nothing out there I would suggest instead of the H700i, it’s pretty perfect.

What Happened?

NZXT has been freaking quiet on the chassis market for years now. They used to produce some of the most desirable and popular chassis on the market, and while that’s still true in the mid-budget market with their “S” series, their higher end models are few and far between. Honestly, the H700i is the best thing they’ve done since the H440, and improves on it in literally every regard.

Features

Having RGB lighting is nothing new, far from it, but NZXT’s application of it is pretty cool. By using two light strips, you’re able to fit the lighting to your liking within the chassis. Of course, with CAM software, you can customise it extensively too. The software also helps monitor the performance of your whole system, control your fans, and more.

Cable Routing

The cable routing is as good as it gets. Attention has been paid to every corner of the chassis. There are cable tie loops everywhere, cable runs pre-routed behind the motherboard, Velcro cable straps, cut-outs, and a PSU shroud. Even with limited experience, you’ll be able to get great looking cable routing.

And More

Extensive water cooling support, pump mounts, reservoir mounts, room for more fans, dust filters, and more. The NZXT H700i commands a high price, but it’s quite simply the best chassis of 2017 and I look forward to investing in it for my next system build.
