NZXT H9 Case Review

A Closer Look – Interior

The case strips down pretty easily, and rather uniquely too. With the glass out of the way, you can see there’s no frame in the way on the front left corner. This means you can get those monster GPUs, liquid cooling hardware, or simply just your arms and elbows deep into the case with absolute ease. The top panel lifts out too, and as you can see, there are fan/radiator mounts there, but also a bit of extra space to tuck some cables and other junk too.

The main hardware compartment is incredibly spacious too, with room for additional cooling and airflow all the way along the bottom. But what’s that next to the cable management for the motherboard?

That’s right, it’s a tiny little tempered glass window on the INSIDE of the case. That’s something I’ve never seen!

There’s room for the biggest GPUs you can think of, and plenty of room to spare beyond that. Plus, you can get 3 fans at the top, 3 fans on the right, and 3 more at the bottom. With the rear fan, that gives you 10 fans in total, so you should be able to cool the system with ease.

It’s a dual-chamber design too, so behind the motherboard, you can see those side fans are configured to pull air into the case much like normal front panel fans are, just turned to the side. There’s a removable plate here too marked with purple stickers. This is actually an SSD mounting tray, giving you lots of extra storage mounts.

Just unscrew it at the top and bottom…

And the panel swings out on a hinge, allowing you access to the significantly deep cable management space behind.

It’s great having all this back here though, with an additional hard drive cage at the rear and the SSD plate you can easily install a lot of storage in here and mostly out of sight too. The PSU mounts halfway up at the back, allowing for easier cable routing and there are deep routing channels with huge Velcro straps, so getting it all neat and tidy should be a breeze.
