NZXT HUE RGB LED Controller Review

Now that we have the HUE out of the box we can see that its a fairly straightforward piece of kit, on the left we have a roll of stip lighting back with an 3M sticky strip, a pack of 4 small screws for attaching the controller unit into the chassis and of course the 5.25″ drive bay controller device, which comes pre fitted with a SATA power cable and 4 pin cable to connect to one of the strip lights.
Around the back of the controller you can see it comes fitted with a simple PCB, with most of the tray that the unit being fitted in left empty, not sure why they didn’t just fit it with small side wings as brackets, but I suppose in the end it doesn’t really make much difference.
The front of the device come finishing in a mixture of mesh and flat panel design, so it should fit into the style of any case that has one or the other finishes to its front panel without looking too out of place. The main controls are catered for by three simple plastic dials, each takes care of one of the three colour options, red, green and blue. Further to this you can also press the dials like a button to control overall brightness, power on/off and mode.
