NZXT HUE RGB LED Controller Review

It took me all of a few minutes to install the HUE, the quick release drive bays on the 810 Switch meant that the controller device clipped into place without any screws and the 3M glue strip meant that the lights stuck in place with ease.

The thing that I was most impressed with was that the lights were long enough to make an entire loop around the outside of the chassis, so no corner was left un-lit, which is impressive in such a large chassis. As you can see in the picture below, I dialed the red setting up to maximum, I have panned the camera around so you can see the lights in place, but from a side on view, the light is evenly dispersed and I couldn’t see the individual lights on the strip.

With the side panel on I went for a subtle blue light within the case, matching the blue that is omitted by our Antec 920, apologies for the close angle of the photo, but the crystal clear panel of the 810 SE chassis is highly reflective when it comes to taking photos.

The depth of colour given off is stunning with these light, I was able to get everything from electric blue to sunset yellow thanks to a trick on your brain if you mix the right amount of red and green, brilliant white, any colour I could think of was achievable from those three simple dials, add to that the ability to change the overall brightness and you can really set any tone and mood for the lighting in your case.
