NZXT HUE RGB LED Controller Review

I really enjoyed reviewing this case accessory, it’s nice every now and then to have something a little different in the office and this was no exception, given that over the years I have added custom lighting to several chassis of my own, fitting stip lights, led strips, tube lighting, fan lighting and so on to get the desired colour and effect from the chassis, yet here with one simple set of lights I was able to get exactly the effect I wanted, when I wanted it. I can really see this product going down well with pro and amature case modders alike.
The addition of features like the auto colour changing modes are cool too, I personally found them a bit distracting, but if you do system builds for display or showing off then it really does catch the eye watching the rig slowly fade from one colour to the other, or a slow strobe light effect if you really want to get peoples attention, can’t imagine it would make for a relaxing experience while you’re gaming though having the lights blink on and off all the time, but thats the fun thing about the HUE, that you can pick and choose just how you want it to be lit for any situation you require.
The only thing I wasn’t sure about was the controller on the front of the chassis, its not bad but I just don’t like it, that and all three of the slots on my chassis are taken up by a DVD drive, fan controller and a card reader, which is why I can see a few case modders having a little fun with the controller device, even just stealth mounting it inside the chassis, not as functional, but if you have it set just how you like it, then there is no need to have the controls out front.
I’m going to award the NZXT HUE our Innovation Award, because NZXT have hit on a winner here, it’s relatively cheap, it’s superbly functional and it offers great flexibility and ease of use, so if you’re looking for some new case lighting, you need not look any further than this.
