NZXT Kraken 240 AIO Cooler Review

A Closer Look
The NZXT Kraken 240 is a nice enough looking cooler and the all-black design certainly appeals to me. The fans are black on black, with black cables, and even the text on the back is at its brightest, very dark grey.
The radiator is what you would expect too, a fairly common design 240mm black radiator which supports mounting the fans on either side to suit your build requirements. You could do push/pull too if you wanted, but it’s of little benefit to slim radiators.
On the side, there’s a debossed NZXT logo, but again, it’s all very understated so it should blend into your PC build really easily.
The tubing is nice and thick, but still has very good flex and overall reach on it, so it should be fine in most mid or full-tower cases.
The pump is the latest generation from Akatek, so the mounting system is one we’ve seen countless times before. Of course, Asatek has been building NZXT coolers for years now, and they certainly know what they’re doing. Thermal paste is pre-applied, but as usual, I will remove this to use our standard testing paste from Noctua to keep things fair.
The fans screw on easily enough and look pretty menacing with their surprisingly straight blades. Now, let’s get this beast into our test system!
