Installation was a breeze, it’s an Asetek pump, so it feels like I’ve done it a hundred times before… because I have! Setting up the fans is easy thank to the included hub, and it’s all USB controlled via the NZXT CAM software, so again, all very user friendly. Plus with the recent updates to CAM and the Kraken coolers, which you can read about here, they’re more versatile than ever before!
Right away, the Kraken Elite is delivering great performance, not that I expected anything less given this is the largest NZXT AIO we’ve had on this test bench, and also their most expensive.
With our fixed clock speeds, and optimised voltages, performance was exceptionally better, with temperatures dropping a staggering 10c, despite the overall increase in performance.
Stock acoustics were pretty much silent for the most part, and even at load, it still clocked in as one of the quietest we’ve tested. It can be louder if you turn up the fans, but the default profile is tuned for acoustics.
And it was exactly the same fan curve and acoustics while overclocking too!
Stock performance was very impressive, giving us our fourth highest score for Cinebench R23.
However, with our optimised settings getting much better load temperatures, the score was able to creep up quite a bit, scoring a very impressive 27689, very close to the highest we’ve had yet!
