At stock levels, the NZXT Kraken X63 RGB is undoubtedly one of the best coolers we have ever encountered. There were absolutely minimal margins that stopped this being #1 in the charts below and the closer you look at the figures, the more you will perhaps appreciate that, in many regards and taking all of the figures as an overall, it’s arguably the best there. This is similarly seen in its exceptionally quiet acoustic performance.
The most interesting aspect, however, was just how good the NZXT Kraken X63 RGB was when we applied the overclocked settings. In that aspect of our testing, it was an absolute monster both in terms of exceptionally low CPU temperatures while being exceptionally quiet at its job. We did, however, note that while overclocked there were occasional CPU temperature spikes following by a ramp-up in fan speeds which then quietened down and then, after a minute or so, repeated again. As part of our methodology, we do allow the PWM fan settings to remain at their defaults within the BIOS. With a little tweaking of those, however, it’s entirely possible that the NZXT Kraken X63 RGB could provide even better results (both in terms of temperatures and acoustics) than what was provided in our testing.
