NZXT Lift Lightweight Ambidextrous Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?
I had a little read around at some other reviews, as my sample got here a little late, and a few of them judged the price as a little high given the level of features. I couldn’t disagree more though, as it’s just £39.99 on Amazon for the black or the white version, and that seems very reasonable to me. However, on their US store it’s $60, which is around £45, so not sure why we get it a little cheaper, but it’s still broadly competitive with similarly equipped gaming mice.
Overview
There’s no shortage of competitive and lightweight gaming mice these days. Actually, if you own any modern £30-50 gaming mouse with a PixArt sensor and Omron switches, that weights under 90 grams, I’d say the NZXT Lift has absolutely nothing new to offer you. It barely differentiates itself from its rivals, with a safe and familiar design and feature set. However, that’s actually this mouses strength, it’s a style you’ll likely feel familiar with, and that’s no bad thing when you’re gaming.
It feels very comfortable to use in either hand, and the ambidextrous body is a welcome addition. However, I do feel they’ve missed a trick not having buttons on both sides of the mouse to make it fully ambidextrous. Perhaps that’s something they can improve on in the future, make it fully ambidextrous or more dedicated to right-hand ergonomics.
The lightweight design, those huge PTFE pads and the Paracord cable make this one of the lightest gaming mice on the market. If you like to play fast-paced twitchy shooters, you’re going to love it, as you can make super small adjustments at high-DPI levels with ease. That being said, you can make huge sweeping curves smoothly while using lower DPI levels, and it tracks beautifully, so it’s really up to you how you play.
The CAM software is decent, and it’s come a long way over the years. I’m not a fan of desktop software for my peripherals. However, I already use CAM for my NZXT PC case fan control, lighting, and not needing any more software for the mouse is welcome. Plus, I can sync the RGB, which is nice.
Overall, this is a fairly generic design, but with a kick-ass sensor, quality switches, and solid performance, it’s every bit as competitive as its rivals. However, I think the biggest selling point will be the choice of colour accents, as they do look stunning!
