NZXT N7 Z390 ATX Motherboard Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The NZXT N7 Z390 has been on the market for a little while now and is available from quite a few retailers. It’s on the NZXT website for $274.99 with a choice of colours. However, the add-on colour panels for customisation are sold separately too. Check out the range here.

Overview

NZXT has a rock-solid reputation for cool and exciting products. Their PC cases are some of the best on the market. Take their new H710 BR I reviewed the other day for example. Not forgetting their more historic models such as the Phantom series. Then their award-winning CPU coolers, and more. Now, they have motherboards too. While the motherboard isn’t as innovative and industry-leading as their other products, it’s certainly competitive.

Build Quality

Well, at the heart of it, and by that, I mean the entire motherboard, is made by ECS. That’s not a bad thing really, it’s a fairly common practice to source hardware from other companies, even if you don’t always know they did it. The underlying board is pretty decent though, it’s mid-range for Z390, and I think the price reflects that quite nicely.

What really stands out on the NZXT N7 Z390 is the aesthetics. All that armour looks fantastic, and I think that’ll be the reason people buy this motherboard. Plus, it’s very well equipped in terms of connectivity, which is very beneficial when it comes to building your rig.

Performance

There’s no harm in being average. The NZXT N7 Z390 competes very well with other Z390 motherboards. It’s not the fastest, it’s not the slowest. However, as above, it’s priced fairly in the middle too, so you’re easily getting what you pay for.

Should I Buy One

Decent performance, stylish aesthetics, plenty of customisation and I think the price is fair too. It’ll no doubt appeal more to NZXT fans, but then again, it’ll match up with other brands well enough too.
