The left side of the ultra shiny Phantom 410 consists of the conveniently sized acrylic window and a mesh area which is capable of housing an internal 120/140mm fan. 2 thumbscrews are used to fasten the easily removable slide-on side panel to the case’s main body.
The left side panel is rather plain and continues the ultra shiny, black appearance.
The angular front panel shows stark resemblances to the original Phantom, a design that was fairly ‘Marmite’. The perforated mesh panel acts as a dust filter for the front 120mm fan. NZXT have changed the door locking mechanism from a no-nonsense magnet used on the original Phantom to a quite fiddly push-lock mechanism which can be quite frustrating to operate.
A top panel which is almost identical to that used on the original Phantom features on the Phantom 410. NZXT have the front panel ports positioned on the right side of the top panel, a location which is now free due to the Phantom 410’s miniature fan controller. The front panel ports consist of a pair of USB 3.0 ports, a pair of USB 2.0 ports, a headphone jack, a microphone jack and the 7 channel 30W fan control slider. The power and reset buttons are located on the left side of the case’s summit.
Compared to the original Phantom, the Phantom 410 is a clear step down in terms of size, but is by no means dwarfed. The biggest size change is the length of the case. The original Phantom is noticeably longer than its mid-tower counterpart. The angular pattern and appealing mesh designs are very similar.
We see the usual affair at the rear of the case. NZXT include a rear 120mm fan mount, 2 rubber grommets which are perfect for water cooling tubes, 7 ventilated and recessed, black PCI shields and some extra ventilation holes.
Turning to the underneath of the case, we are met by a dust-filtered area designed for the PSU’s fan, the underside of a 120mm fan mount, 6 anti-movement rubbers positioned on each of the metal strips which form the feet and the cut-out which allows the front panel to be easily removed by hand.
