NZXT Phantom Full Tower Chassis Review

ExteriorThe NZXT Phantom is a fantastic looking case from the offset and is made from steel and plastic but without getting up close is not massively noticeable due to the top quality of the finish. The case is available in multiple colours and can have a variety of coloured strips. The one we are looking at is white with a red stripe.

The styling of the case is certainly unique with a futuristic design and a door which opens to reveal the drive bays.

There are five external optical drive bays which are all ventilated and are easily removable using a flick of the switch.

The top of the chassis includes a power and rest button, several LEDs and some front panel connectors. These include headphone jacks, two USB 2.0 ports and an eSATA port, but sadly no USB 3.0 on this chassis.

The other side, at the top incorporates a fan controller with corresponding LEDs and diagrams to show the location of each fan.

Towards the back of the case is a dust filter, which is nicely designed into the general style of the case. Underneath is a location suitable for a watercooling rad.

Once removed, we can see the area available and the space taken up by the 200mm LED fan. There is also space for another 200mm fan if you so wish, but this is optional.

The left hand side of the case includes a huge dust filter for an available 200mm or 230mm fan.

There is also space with removable dust filters for 2x120mm fans which do come included on the bottom of the side panel.

The rear of the case is a simple affair, with a rear 120mm included exhaust fan, four grommets for watercooling, the typical seven expansion slots and the PSU location at the bottom of the case.
