The NZXT Respire T20 costs £29.99 in the UK and in relation to its cooling performance, acoustic performance and functionality that price is a little too much in my opinion. This market segment is so fiercely competitive that I would of expected this cooler to come to market at £24.99 in order for it to be an award winning proposition. The price of the Respire T20 is only £8 cheaper than the Respire T40 yet the performance drops off quite a significant amount. In an ideal world NZXT would of brought the Respire T40 to the market at £32.99 and the Respire T20 at £24.99. Yet they have opted for £37.99 and £29.99 respectively.
NZXT have cut down a lot of the cooling features on the Respire T20 in comparison to the Respire T40, yet they haven’t cut the price by an equal amount. As a result I do not feel the Respire T20 is a good buy for the consumer at its current price. I’d advise anyone looking for an NZXT cooler to make that step up to the NZXT Respire T40 instead because it definitely gives you better bang for your buck than the Respire T20. More generally speaking I think there are whole range of better value CPU coolers from Cooler Master, Arctic and others at this price point which the Respire T20 occupies.
The NZXT Respire T20 offers an efficient mounting system, 100% RAM compatibility and solid build quality but due to the absence of a PWM fan and average cooling performance it struggles to impress at its given price point. This is by no means a bad product, it is just average, and average doesn’t win awards these days.
