NZXT Respire T40 CPU Cooler Review

NZXT have deployed the direct touch heat pipe design with the four 8mm copper heat pipes in this cooler. It is nice and flat so you shouldn’t get much build up between heat pipes which can cause cooling performance to degrade.
At the top you can see the four “U” shaped heat pipes emerging from the single tower heatsink.
The heatsink is actually quite dense for such a budget product – this gives me hope the cooling performance will be good.
The Respire T40’s aluminium fins bend quite easily. This is somewhat standard on most CPU coolers as the fins are very delicate and thin, thankfully it doesn’t affect performance and is only a minor cosmetic blemish.
The included fan is a 120mm that does either 1800RPM or 1200RPM (with the provided low noise adaptor) via a 3 pin cable so does not support PWM controls. It has a clean design and the aesthetics will go with most budget systems. NZXT have braided the cable too which is nice to see for a budget product.
