NZXT Source 210 Elite Mid-Tower Chassis Review

Final ThoughtsThe way that the Source 210 Elite stacks up is good in principle and has some fantastic styling that is simple and direct whilst including some of the key features that you’d expect of a case in today’s market.

If a simple case with a stylish design is what you’re after, then the Source 210 Elite is going to be right up your street, especially with the contrasting black and white colour scheme though this doesn’t go without its problems. The build quality does seem to be lacking somewhat, but after discussions with NZXT it seems that the problems we found are specific to our sample and not a general production issue.

To highlight these slight problems, we found that the hard drive cage was somewhat tight and therefore took some effort to install our chosen drives which led to some of the paint work being stripped. We also found that the optical drive location at the top of the chassis didn’t allow the drive to sit square and was off to one side, but as said we have been told that this is a bad sample we’ve received and shouldn’t affect your purchase if you decide this is the case for you. Other than these niggly things, which we’re told aren’t in the production version, we found the case to be sturdy and feature rich for a simple case that is aimed at the correct market.

Expected to be arriving with e-tailers such as Scan in the coming week with the Source 210 at £34.99 and Source 210 Elite at £41.99, both including VAT, it really is a great bang for buck for a stylish, unique looking case that spouts a certain elegance from it leaving you with one decision as to if you need the top mount fan and USB 3.0 functionality that the Elite version gives, or if the cheaper non-elite flavour is right for you.

Pros:

  • Unique styling
  • Elegant design
  • USB 3.0 functionality
  • Great bang for buck
  • Plenty of storage options

Cons:

  • Build quality on our sample seems below par
