The 3XL is huge, not in a typical “oh its just a big mouse mat” sense of huge either, but at 1200mm x 600cm (47.24 x 23.62 inchs). The 3XL came in a simple tube package, which certainly makes storage and transportation easier. I was concerned that it would take a while for the surface to drop back into a flat shape when removed, but it laid perfectly flat as soon as I removed it from the box.
It’s 2mm thick and back with a durable rubber base, this will keep it firmly in place on your desktop of choice, not that its overall weight and friction wouldn’t have been enough anyway.
Lets gain a little perspective on this shall we, here you can see a full shot of the surface, I had to hold the camera slightly above my head to get it all in shot. You can see my lovely Roccat Kone XTD mouse sitting snug in the corner there, I don’t think I’ll be running out of turning room any time soon, regardless of my DPI settings.
The surface has a really fine weave to it, it has a light textured feel to it yet the mouse glides beautifully across its surface. It provides very little resistance, but the soft feel under your wrist still provides you with some feedback and it bridges the gap between cloth and soft mats nicely.
