Sony has won over the hearts and minds of millions of gamers this week and while Microsoft put on a good show in the E3 warm up, there was little they could do to stop the award winning performance that was the PlayStation 4. Sony has gained further confidence today by revealing the final hardware specifications of the PlayStation 4 retail units, showing us just how close we are to the actual release window.

Many of these details have been known for some time, many were leaked and many were lightly mentioned in the first PlayStation 4 press event back in February, but sometimes it’s just nice to see them in black and white and get everything nailed down on a The Jaguar architecture still makes up the 8 core AMD APU and will bring with it some impressive power saving features and with the addition of Radeon GPU cores it can also turn some impressive figures with 1.84 TFLOPS of compute workload. The GPU its self features 18 compute units running at 800MHz, 6 more than the Xbox One.

One of the best features is a 500GB hard drive that is user replaceable or upgradable, meaning no proprietary hard drive units and that is something that will no doubt keep the PlayStation faithful happy. Add to this USB 3.0, Blu-Ray 6x (three times faster than PlayStation 3), B/G/N Wi-Fi and more.
