Let’s find out how easy it is to run Sea of Thieves!
Judging by what we’ve seen so far in various gameplay videos, Sea of Thieves shouldn’t need a powerhouse in order to run properly. However, those of you who want to know exactly what to expect will definitely be interested in finding out the game’s official requirements. These surfaced a little while ago, and it looks like our initial assumptions were correct. The minimum system requirements show an Intel Q9450 or an AMD Phenom II X6 CPU complemented by just 4GB of RAM. On the graphics side of things, you’ll need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 or an AMD Radeon 7750.
What if I want to reach the highest FPS possible?
In order to achieve 60FPS at 1080P, Microsoft suggests an Intel i5 4690 or an AMD FX-8150. You’ll need at least 8GB of RAM, by the way. Since it is mostly a GPU-bound title, Sea of Thieves will require a GeForce GTX 770 or a Radeon R9 380X graphics card in order to run properly. Want to go even higher? For 30FPS at a resolution of 4K, you could get by with an Intel i5 4690 or an AMD FX-8150. The RAM requirement goes up to 16GB in this case, while the GPU should be quite capable. For example, a GTX 980 Ti or a Radeon RX Vega 56 could get the job done. You can even achieve 60 FPS in 4K. However, you’ll need a GTX 1080Ti or an AMD Radeon RX Vega 64.
Sea of Thieves will come out on March 20th, and you will find a complete list of system requirements below.
