Yes, the new Star Wars Battlefront 2 is coming out in November, but the old one still has a fully-functional multiplayer mode. We told you about the multiplayer restoration for Battlefront 2 some time ago, and now, the game has received a comprehensive mod that will improve its overall appeal. The Star Wars Battlefront Conversion Pack initially came out in 2008. However, a new version was necessary in order to ensure compatibility with the updated game. So what does this new mod have to offer? A new era and expanded unit content, both of which can breathe new life into this old gem.
The mod also includes 25 new maps and 5 game modes, which is quite impressive. Even though the title is quite old, it looks like modders are fully committed to its support. Apart from this content mod, there’s also a texture overhaul package available, which improves overall visuals. It won’t make it look as good as the new Battlefront 2, obviously, but it will help if graphics are very important to you.
The multiplayer revival of the classic Battlefront 2 and the new content packs are tempting gamers to go on a nostalgia trip, just a month before the release of a brand new Star Wars game. Some say that this new mod offers more content than EA’s upcoming title altogether, and the best part is that it is completely free. You can download version 2.0 of the Battlefront Conversion Pack right here, as well as version 2.2 here. Finally, you’ll need Zerted’s 1.3 patch that makes it compatible with Battlefront 2’s new version.
