Despite Dead By Daylight’s many stumbles and issues, it remains the top multiplayer horror game on Steam and pretty much everything else, and has little to no competition. There have been games that have tried to recreate what makes Dead by Daylight so good, with their own little twists on the formula, games like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Evil Dead and to some extent Lethal Company.
But a game I’m sure many of you forgot that used to be considered the main rival to Dead by Daylight was Friday the 13th The Game. A game that until not too long ago was thought to be gone for good! But thanks to some amazing fans of the game, a fan build of the game is now coming to SDteam very soon.
What set Friday the 13th game apart from its rival Dead by Daylight was the fact that the players could turn on the killer by completing certain conditions to kill the hockey-masked antagonist.
When the game was delisted at the end of 2023 it still sat with an overall very positive review on Steam. Still, sadly Publisher Gun has decided to move on to another famous horror movie franchise the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
The fan build has modified the base game and provides dedicated multiplayer servers that will be released completely free-to-play. The game will be revealed on Monday April 15th, less than two weeks away and it looks amazing.
