One Piece Odyssey Releases New Gameplay Trailer
Mike Sanders / 2 years ago
One Piece Odyssey was originally revealed earlier this year and ever since it’s been pretty high on my upcoming anticipated gaming list. – Well, being a huge fan of both the manga and anime series, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that it would, at the very least, pique my interest.
With that being said, however, I think it would be fair to say that the overall history of gaming adaptations from the manga/anime world is a bit of a mixed bag. No, not as bad as game to film, but comparable nonetheless. – If you did, therefore, need a little convincing for One Piece Odyssey, then maybe a brand new gameplay trailer will help!
One Piece Odyssey
The new trailer certainly gives us a pretty solid insight into the mechanics we can expect from One Piece Odyssey. For example, it looks like you will be able to swap out characters on the fly in order to successfully traverse the various environments you will be in. Additionally, it also seems to confirm that you will visit locations (seemingly within some kind of ‘memory’ world) from within the confirmed One Piece universe.
Overall though, the trailer does predominantly focus on the combat abilities with Ussop, Nami, Sanji, and Zoro all getting a look in (I can’t see any Brooks though, not that I have eyes to see him with ho ho ho ho ho).

Where Can I Learn More?
One Piece Odyssey is set to release on all major consoles, as well as PC, on January 13th 2022. – Albeit PC users might mildly baulk at the £49.99 price tag (just for the base version). Typically speaking though, and for reasons I’ve never determined, anime/manga gaming spin-offs always seem to come with a notably high cost.
If you do, however, want to learn more, you can check out its official Steam store website via the link here!
