Back in June OnLive revealed they would be bringing their cloud gaming service to the UK in partnership with BT. The company offered Player gamer tag sign ups at E3 2011 for those who wished to get in early and secure a particular username as well as getting an OnLive founding member account. OnLive has said the official launch date will be September the 22nd at the opening of the EuroGamer Expo in London.
Special promotions and giveaways will be hosted on launch and the company claims they will fully integrated OnLive UK and OnLive North America by offering a chat and spectate feature as well as cross continent cloud gaming multiplayer. The OnLive company also plans to expand to Europe after the UK launch is completed.
OnLive Founder and CEO Steve Perlman:
“OnLive will utterly transform gaming in the UK, No discs, big downloads or specialised hardware needed. OnLive gives you the latest games instantly, anytime, anywhere on HDTV, PC, Mac, as well as iPad, Android tablets. High-performance gaming as accessible as streaming video, with unique social features such as massive spectating with voice chat and Facebook integration.”
