Origin auto adding Steam owned games

Origin auto adding Steam owned games

Origin is reportedly auto-adding EA games bought from other digital download services like Steam to users’ accounts.

According to forum posts on Day One Patch (via Joystiq), players have noticed the likes of Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect automatically appearing in their Origin game lists.

The most likely cause is Origin checking users’ computers for files related to EA games before beefing up their accounts with titles previously purchased from rival networks.

EA said earlier this month that Origin now has more than 9.3 million registered users and partnerships with 21 third party publishers. Since June 2011, sales on Origin have generated more than $100 million in revenue.
