Outlast 2 PC Specifications Revealed

Outlast, the game which scared thousands and makes names of YouTube personalities with their wild screeching is getting a sequel and the specifications have been announced.

Being the inevitable sequel to the highly popular (and brilliant) Outlast (2013) developer ‘Red Barrel’ announced the specifications to the sequel due for release on the 27th of April, just 1 week away!

SPECIFICATIONS (from Steam)

MINIMUM:

    • OS: Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 10, 64-bits
    • Processor: Intel Core i3-530
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Graphics: 1GB VRAM, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 260 / ATI Radeon HD 4870
    • DirectX: Version 10
    • Storage: 30 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
    • Additional Notes: Targetting 720p @ 30 fps

RECOMMENDED:

    • OS: Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 10, 64-bits
    • Processor: Intel Core i5
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: 1.5GB VRAM, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660 / ATI Radeon HD 7850
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 30 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
    • Additional Notes: Targetting 1080p @ 60 fps

Confusingly (and possibly just to annoy team red) the Steam page does not indicate an AMD processor specification, but one should expect a quad-core for minimum and 6/8 core for recommended.

What is going to surprise most is how seemingly reasonable the ‘recommended’ specifications are. This might raise concerns that the game will not be graphically too impressive, however, if it looks anything like the original Outlast I wouldn’t anticipate needing to worry too much. Outlast was an excellent atmospheric and outright scary game and I would be very surprised if this sequel fails to exceed that which the original achieved.

The gameplay video below looks impressive and very spooky!

Outlast is being released for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 on April 27th 2017.
