Overclockers UK Take VR Racing Series on Tour!

Eager to test out your virtual and even your real-world racing skills? The Overclockers UK VR Racing Series is back! The computer retailer has teamed up with brands like Intel, XFX, HTC Vive, Next Level Racing, Thrustmaster, and noblechairs, and they’re looking to test out drivers both on and on the track thanks to VR and the support of PalmerSport at Bedford Autodrome.

“Adrenaline-fueled from the success of the first round we are hitting the roads of the UK and could be bringing the competition to a city near you!” said OCUK

Tour dates:

  • Manchester, 11th – 12th February, 9am-5pm, Britannia Suite, Country House Hotel & Spa, Palatine Road, Didsbury, Manchester, M20 2WG
  • Wolverhampton, 25th – 26th February [Further details to be confirmed]
  • Silverstone Circuit, 5th March [Further details to be confirmed]
  • London, Saturday 18th – 19th March [Further details to be confirmed]

Overclockers UK Racing Series 2016 – Take part in the ultimate challenge!

Entrance into the competition is FREE and the rules are simple. If you set one of the 6 fastest laps during your VR experience on Project CARS for that round, we will invite you to a prestigious PalmerSport track day at the Bedford Autodrome. You will be driving the Renault Clio Cup, BMW M4 GTP, Land Rover Defender, Caterham Pursuit, Ariel Atom, Palmer JP-LM, and Formula 3000! Not to mention you’ll get to go-kart too!

In the grand finals there will be nine competitors, which will be the fastest three drivers in the Formula 3000 at each PalmerSport track day. In round one, S. Ashbourne came first with the incredible time of 1:19.22, A. Lim came second with 1:20.35 and E.Cumming was third with 1:21.18. Check out their response to the experience in the video below! The Grand Final will take place at the end of summer 2017 and will again be a PalmerSport track day.

This time our competitors will be competing to win big prizes proving they have what it takes to become the Overclockers UK Racing Series Champion!

Round two is ending on the Saturday 25th March, so make sure you take part either at the Overclockers UK store in Newcastle-under-Lyme, or when Overclockers UK are on tour! – The round 2 track day will be on the Saturday 1st April with the top 6 qualifiers racing to be in the top three.

Don’t worry if you miss out on round two, as round three, the final qualifying round will be starting on the Monday 3rd April in VR showroom.
