Windows 8 still needs lots of work, Microsoft plans to do a major overhaul on the Operating System this summer. Rolling out some of their so called “Improvements”. When windows 8 was designed they put in touch screen capabilities, with the majority of the market not having this capability, it put many users out. Making the operating system feel more as though it was designed for mobile/tablet users, since most people do not own a touchscreen monitor.
Windows 8 has a completely new look and feel to it, but many people are hesitant to make the switch. Microsoft has yet to release any specifics about the overhaul or any of their improvements, but their CFO Peter Klein leaving on June 1 has stated.
“We built Windows 8 with touch and mobility at the center of the experience, which positions us well in this new era. However, the transition is complicated, given the size of our hardware and software ecosystem. We still have an immense amount of work to do,”
So we can probably expect an announcement soon. Windows 8.1 codenamed Windows Blue, is currently in the works, and we should hopefully see it this summer, getting new improvements to the User Interface and some performance enhancements, sounds like we are talking about the Bionic Man here. Though it has not been stated yet, we assume that Windows 8.1 will be free update for any Windows 8 users.
