Overwatch Hackers Getting Banned Hard

As with all new games, people look for shortcuts to get a head start and win, even more so as competitive play becomes more and more abundant within new releases. With Overwatch released last week, players are already complaining about hackers and cheats ruining their gaming experience. Blizzard has already reminded players that they won’t have anything like that ruining their games, and players have already started losing accounts to their mischevious deeds.
Titled “Blizzard have started to swing the hammer“, a Reddit thread contains tales and stories of players who have experienced the anti-cheat methods in action. With many of the posts citing that their users have been banned due to DLL injections. One user reports that he used a DLL injection to wallhack, only to get their access to the game removed a day after it was released.
One user reports that he used a DLL injection to wallhack, only to get banned a day after the game released. Sadly after buying the game again, this time with no hacks only to be banned and forced to buy the game for the third time. After getting banned yet again, the user decided to change some settings to try to conceal their identity, only to find they were banned for the fourth time without a single hack present.
The lesson here appears to be that if you get banned, you will end up losing access to the game as a whole. With a price tag designed to discourage users from buying multiple copies if they get banned, Blizzard will still need users to help spot hacks and report their users in hopes of making Overwatch a cheat free zone.
