Blizzard is further expanding the hero roster for Overwatch with the introduction of Ashe. She is a shotgun wielding outlaw and the leader of the Deadlock Gang. The group is of course well-known as the one responsible for hijacking the payload in the Route 66 map. They are also the criminal enterprise Jesse McCree was part of before joining Overwatch.
In typical Blizzard fashion, her announcement includes not only a gorgeous new cinematic, but an origin story video comic and an abilities preview video as well.
What Can Ashe Do?
Ashe is a DPS (damage-per-second) type character and is equipped with a shotgun for long or close range engagements. She can either use it to hip fire or aim down for a more accurate long range shot.
She also has a Coach Gun which is for knocking back enemies. Furthermore, it can also be used to increase jump height like a Quake Rocket Jump.
Against armored and shielded opponents, she also packs a dynamite with explosive damage. Moreover, this has an additional burn damage over time.
Her ultimate move is calling her personal Omnic bodyguard B.O.B. who charges in and essentially becomes a 7th member of the team for a short duration. He can shoot via his arm cannons, has his own health pool and can be healed.
When is Ashe Going to be Playable in Overwatch?
Ashe is not playable even on the PTR servers at this time, unless you are present in the Blizzcon showroom floors. Expect to start playing her once Blizzon wraps up, and at least a few more weeks until she is playable on the regular servers.
