OWC Reveals 2TB Mercury Electra SSD

OWC has just announced its newest and one of its most reliable SSDs, namely the Mercury Electra MAX 6G 2.0TB. Actually, this is the highest capacity SSD ever released by OWC, and it might very well the fastest too, as it flaunts sustained transfer speeds of 490MB/s in SATA 3.0 mode, but it is also fully compatible with SATA 2.0 and SATA. Set to start shipping this month, this brand new OWC offering will be showcased alongside 20 other products during the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show that will take place in Anaheim, California from January 21 to January 26, 2016.

Apart from its outstanding transfer speeds, the Mercury Electra MAX 6G 2.0TB SSD impresses with RAID-like data protection, and it was designed with heavy-duty use in mind from the ground-up. However, all of these highlights come at a cost, as the MSRP for the new Mercury Electra is no less than $799. If you’re still interested, you can find a complete list of specifications below.

  • Highest capacity 2.5″ SSD ever offered by OWC, 2.0TB.
