OWC Reveals 480GB Envoy Pro Mini SSD

Even though it might look like a conventional thumb drive, the Envoy Pro Mini SSD by OWC is actually a rather impressive device that could very well represent the ideal solution to all of our storage-related needs. Featuring a minimalistic, simple look as well as an aluminum construction, the Envoy Pro Mini offers 480GB of space, which is twice the capacity of its previous model. Moreover, it can achieve speeds of up to 427MB/s, which means that it can go toe-to-toe with some desktop-class SSDs, all thanks to its industry leading controller technologies.

The thumb drive’s Integrated data management technology ensures that it can operate at peak performance even when it is almost full while hardware error correction systems guarantee the drive’s health and impressive data retention. When asked about this brand new OWC product, the company’s Founder and CEO, Larry O’Connor, has stated the following:

“This isn’t your average thumb drive. The pocket-sized Envoy Pro mini delivers full-sized, desktop-class SSD performance and doesn’t slow down with use like many other SSDs. And because it’s both lightweight and rugged, it’s the ultimate go-anywhere storage companion for anyone on the move.”

The 480GB OWC Envoy Pro Mini SSD comes with a price tag of $287, and I definitely wouldn’t mind having one on my keychain.
